Advanced Pension Conference
Chicago, IL - 9/7/2016 - 9/9/2016

Highlights
Dear Pension Professional:

So much has taken place in the retirement plan landscape since last September! Of course, the DOL has issued the final fiduciary regulations and a host of prohibited transaction exemptions, rules that will profoundly affect everyone in the industry, and not just “investment advisors.” But the IRS has also profoundly changed the landscape in issuing very welcome guidance on midyear amendments to safe harbor 401(k) plans, and backing away from issuing ongoing determination letters to individually designed plans. Not to be outdone, Congress has passed a sweeping set of reforms for church plans. And we expect additional rulings in the next few months as the agencies look to transition to a new president.

Come to the FIS’ Advanced Pension Conference (APC) in Chicago to stay abreast of what is happening and to advance your skills as a retirement professional while earning up to 19 hours of CE credits. This year’s conference, held September 7-9, is rich with opportunities to tailor your professional education to your needs, so you have more choices and more of what you need and want to know. Our experienced panel includes, among others: Ilene Ferenczy, David Pratt, Robert Richter, David Schultz and myself.

The APC in Chicago features the intimacy and expertise our attendees value, with close access to skilled presenters and information to use right now. Our unique format is fun and interesting, including opportunities to network over lunch, ask questions during our Ask the Experts session, and laugh and learn during our popular Pension Jeopardy. You’ll stay ahead of the curve with our popular Keeping Current program, a special presentation on industry trends, and our vital Washington Update, that takes a look into the future to see what’s coming.

Back this year is the Just for ERPAs Workshop, a one-day program conveniently scheduled on Tuesday, September 6, the day before the APC. This workshop covers upcoming 5500 changes, detailed analysis of related employers, and more. Earn up to 8 hours of ERPA credit, including 2 Ethics hours. Register for both the Chicago APC and the ERPA Workshop, and pay only $250 for the Workshop, a $180 saving. To take advantage of this offer, you must use the APC registration form. View the Workshop's agenda and details here.

Once again, the conference will be at the 4-star Westin Michigan Avenue Hotel on the Magnificent Mile. The hotel is across the street from the Hancock Tower, only a block away from the shops of Water Tower Place, and two blocks away from Lake Michigan. Here are a few suggestions on things to do while you’re in Chicago.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference in September.
