409A Corrections
Presentor: Derrin Watson Recorded Date: 4/5/2013 Duration: 100 Min.

Description
This program was recorded during a live presentation on April 5, 2013.

It is just too easy to make mistakes in a nonqualified deferred compensation plan subject to Code §409A. The consequences of those mistakes can be horrendously expensive. This seminar focuses on the correction programs the IRS has put in place for 409A operational and document errors. We also examine a possible alternative for errors involving nonvested benefits, and the consequences of uncorrected failures. This program is a must for anyone working with nonqualified deferred compensation plans.

Topics include:

  • Consequences of 409A failure
  • Effect of proposed taxation regulations
  • Classification of operational failures
  • Correcting operational failures
  • Avoiding document failures
