Recent Department of Labor Guidance on “open MEPs” has answered some long-standing questions. Open MEPs are a series of separate plans under ERISA, not a single ERISA plan. However, other MEPs, such as those for professional employer organizations can still be treated as single ERISA plans.

Objectives: After this seminar, attendees should be able to do the following with regard to multiple employer plans:

1. Identify appropriate situations
2. Determine service for eligibility and vesting
3. Calculate compensation for various purposes
4. Explain how to test the plan for coverage and nondiscrimination

6. Adapt to the administrative differences involving these plans

• Internet Explorer 4.01 or later, Netscape 4.08 or later, and set Internet browser to allow pop-up windows.

• Pentium 166+ MHz, 128MB RAM or more.

• Soundcard and Speakers.

Software Requirements:

• Silverlight Version 4 is required. Silverlight Version 5 or higher is preferred.
