| Relius Government Forms 5500 Desktop Version 2012 is currently scheduled for release the week of December 26th. It’s possible that this release may be delayed a week – if so, we will provide an update as soon as possible. This communication provides some important information regarding this release. Note, that the Relius Government Forms Web Client 2012 release is currently scheduled for mid-January. Please refer back to the Relius Government Forms Product News page for updated information regarding these releases.

8955-SSA Information
The Relius Government Forms 5500 Desktop Version 2012 release will support electronic filing for the 8955-SSA via the IRS FIRE system. There will be a wizard function in 5500 Desktop that will allow you to export the 8955-SSA to a file that is formatted for upload to the FIRE system. A user guide will be included with the 5500 Desktop Version 2012 release with instructions.
IMPORTANT: Only the 2009 Form 8955-SSA in the 2010 Form Set Year will be available for export and upload to the IRS FIRE system. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact support at 800-326-7235, option 1.
If you plan to electronically file the 8955-SSA via the IRS FIRE system, you will need to obtain a Transmitter Control Code (TCC) by completing Form 4419, which is included in the Relius Government Forms 5500 2011 SP3 release. If you have not already completed and submitted the Form 4419, you should do so immediately to ensure you will receive your TCC prior to the January 17, 2012 filing deadline. This information will need to be entered in the new "Transmitters Information" section on the PIW for plans that will be electronically filed.
NOTE: If you already have a TCC for another form that you file with the IRS, this TCC cannot be used for the 8955-SSA. You will need a separate TCC for the 8955-SSA. SunGard also understands from conversations with the IRS, that the TCC for an 8955-SSA can only be used to file 999 8955-SSA’s for a calendar year (not 9,999 as defined on the IRS Web site). 2011 5500 Forms and Schedules
The Relius Government Forms 5500 Desktop Version 2012 release will include the 2011 Form 5500 and schedules. As of January 1, 2012, preparers must use the 2011 forms for 2011 plan year filings.
If you have already started to complete a 2011 short plan year filing on a 2010 form, this must be filed with the DOL by December 31, 2011. Starting on January 1, 2012, 2011 plan year filings must be completed and filed on a 2011 form. If the 5500 Desktop Version 2012 release is installed prior to January 1, 2012, the system will prohibit you from electronically filing 2011 plan year 5500’s completed on 2011 forms until January 1, 2012. This is a result of the DOL enabling a schema change for the 2011 form filings that goes into effect on January 1, 2012. This change does not affect 2009 or 2010 Form 5500’s.
IMPORTANT: The 2011 Form 5500 and schedules will not be available in Web Client until mid-January when we release Web Client 2012. You will be unable to publish 2011 forms to Web Client until the release of Web Client 2012.
